  • The Opportunity From pharmaceutical manufacturing lines and food processing plants to data centres and national water infrastructure, ACS Drives keeps Irelands essential industries operating efficiently and safely. As a trusted ABB Value Provider and Merus Power partner, we design, commission, and maintain Variable Speed Drive (VSD) and Power Quality (PQ) systems across the full equipment lifecycle. Our mission is to maximise uptime, enhance system performance, and deliver measurable energy efficiency for clients in mission-critical sectors. ACS Drives invites applications for two Drive Systems Engineers/Electricians to join our expanding teams in the East and Southwest of Ireland. These roles combine site-based fieldwork, workshop activity, and remote diagnostic support offering broad exposure across project delivery and service disciplines. Youll collaborate closely with senior engineers, contribute to national-scale operations, and follow a structured training and progression pathway within a technically rigorous and supportive environment. This is a hybrid role involving customer site visits, training and project work at our ACS Development & Test Centre in Mullingar, and remote technical support, depending on project stage and experience level. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, and maintain low-voltage (LV) Variable Speed Drive systems across industrial and utility applications. Perform diagnostic testing, fault-finding, and troubleshooting on LV control circuits, motor systems, and field instrumentation. Execute panel modifications, retrofitting, and full control system builds to specification. Conduct detailed RAMS, site surveys, LV system condition reports, maintenance, commissioning, and asset register documentation. Deliver Service Level Agreement (SLA) support to key accounts, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational reliability. Provide technical support both on-site and remotely. Build and maintain effective partnerships with customers, contractors, integrators, and OEM representatives. Make technical contributions to the ACS Technical Support teams, assisting in continuous product and process improvement. Adhere to ISO , and 45001 aligned quality, environmental, and safety procedures. About You Qualified Electrical Engineer or Electrician with relevant experience (minimum Level 68 qualification). Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical, utilities, food & beverage, data centre, or heavy process environments. Hands-on experience with LV control systems, motors, and instrumentation. Confident in reading, interpreting, and updating electrical schematics. Skilled in LV systems fault finding and automation verification procedures. Experience in invasive power and control modifications, retrofit integration, and compliance with SMS safety protocols. Familiarity with OEM products such as ABB, Schneider, Siemens, Danfoss, and power quality systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach. Demonstrates initiative, reliability, and commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Full, clean driving licence valid for use in Ireland and the EU Mandatory Development & Progression Structured 12-month technical training plan with senior engineering mentorship. Access to ABB University and internal ACS CPD modules. Hands-on product training at the ACS Development & Test Centre.
