Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems. Responsibilities: Operates production and/or test equipment. Completes daily work to meet established schedule with guidance from supervisor. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures, and applicable safety rules. Ensure tools and equipment are set up and operated per procedures. Records production information on approved document or electronic system. Performs basic troubleshooting on operation issues before escalating to supervisor and support team. May perform product testing and release. May assist in executing validation protocols. Ensures safe work practices and follows behavioural based safety guidelines at all times while on site. Carries out training of new employees as appropriate. Support continuous improvement by generating ideas and assisting in projects where needed. Maintain adequate stocks of operating supplies and consumables within production area as appropriate Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor. Education and Experience: Relevant work experience advantageous but not essential or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Excellent communication / interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic and energetic with the ability to integrate quickly into a team environment. Demonstrated flexible and innovative approach to work. Comfortable working with computers. This site plays a critical role in supporting people living with diabetes worldwide, using the latest manufacturing and automation technologies. The Opportunity We are recruiting Manufacturing Technicians at various experience levels to join our brand-new Kilkenny site. This is a hands-on technical role where youll support high-volume, automated manufacturing equipment, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable production. Youll work with modern machinery, structured maintenance systems, and cross-functional teams, with strong opportunities for skill development and career progression in a growing operation.
