Outline of Duties and Responsibilities The Recovery Nurse is responsible for providing, maintaining and developing patient centred care to a high standard. This is achieved through effective organisation of nursing services in the Theatre and the overall administration of the unit. The staff Nurse will be required to possess a clear understanding and commitment to the ethos and philosophy of Sports Surgery Clinic. Maintain throughout the Clinic an awareness of the primacy of patient in relation to all clinic activities. Create a culture of accountability, openness to change, respect for the individual and teamwork that supports the achievement. Create and promote healthy working relationships. Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values of the clinic. The person chosen will be accountable for the nursing service provided to patients in pre-operative and post-operative areas. This includes making provisions for the best possible standard of nursing care of patients at all times. Communicate with relatives and visitors of patients as required. Setting and monitoring standards. Actively participate in the clinic's Accreditation programme and the ethos of Continuous Quality Improvement and implement and maintain procedures in theatre. Keep the Director of Nursing apprised of all issues as required. Liaise with the Director of Nursing to ensure efficient and effective use of patient care consumables and communicate changes to staff. Administrative Responsibilities: Liaise with the Director of Nursing, Clinical Nurse Managers (III/II/I), Staff Nurses and support staff in the development and maintenance of a high quality service. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in planning future service developments for the department. Communicate with Clinical Nurse Managers at floor level to ensure continuity of nursing care and the safe transfer of patients. Promote an environment that is conducive to learning and the development of best practice to enhance staff retention and good industrial relations. Ensure that appropriate health and safety, fire and other statutory regulations are adhered to. Change management - drive and facilitate the changes required to meet the needs of the department. Communicate with the wards and other departments to ensure continuity of patient care and safe transfer of patients to Day Ward and In Patient ward via trolley or bed. Patients transferred to In patient - Ward by Recovery staff at night. Maintain safe custody of controlled drugs according to clinic policy. Co-ordination and maintenance of equipment and monitoring the use of resources to prevent unnecessary expenditure by misuse. Ensure incidents and near misses involving patients and staff are documented and reported in accordance with clinic policies, procedures and guidelines. Contribute to all aspects of audit in respect of quality care, nursing standards and manpower planning. All staff must attend mandatory in-service training. Monitor Infection Control policies and liaise with Infection Control Nurse. Ensure Health & Safety standards are enforced. Use knowledge, judgement and experience to develop ways of coping with crisis situation. Observe and uphold daily cleaning standards in the department. Report any inadequacies. Qualifications & Experience: Experience & Qualifications: Be a Registered General Nurse and registered with An Bord Altranais on the live register. Have a minimum of 4 years post registration experience; with at least 3 years experience in theatre/recovery. Previous orthopaedic experience desirable but not necessary Opportunity to train in specialist disciplines such as Orthopaedics Demonstrate experience of managing a team of nurses and ideally experience in an orthopaedic facility. Be computer literate. Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities. Have the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage a number of issues simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail. Ability to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions. Cork Role Summary: Dawn Meats is one of Europe's leading beef and lamb processing companies with locations across Ireland, UK, France and continental Europe employing over 8,000 employees. We currently have opportunities for an experienced Environmental officer to join our team in Charleville Co. Cork who will be responsible for all environmental disciples within the site. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be based in our Dawn Meats Charleville primary production plant and will be responsible for: Full compliance of the site EPA licence and all the related communication with relevant external bodies Controlling the operation, performance, cost, reporting and resourcing of the onsite Effluent Treatment Plant Leading the site energy and resource team to achieve energy, water and carbon reduction targets; through measuring, analysis and reporting activities; Capturing all relevant data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste and sustainability measures; and formatting such to form KPI's for reporting. Maintain and improve ISO50001 Energy management and ISO140001 Environmental management system on site; Complete site energy/environmental audits to identify opportunities for improvement and improve climate change resilience; Co-ordinate all waste management practices on site in line with group goals Liaise with wider group environmental team on upcoming sustainability projects and strategies Promote and manage excellent relationships with suppliers and other service partners, i.e. contractors etc. Qualifications The ideal Candidate will have or demonstrate: High level of attention to detail, enthusiastic and highly motivated A relevant 3rd level Environmental/Engineering qualification 1-3 years' experience in a similar industry would be an advantage but not essential Previous sampling/lab analysis experience beneficial, but not essentia l Capability of managing data, report writing Knowledge of Lean systems would be an advantage Excellent IT skills, including proficient use of MS Office suite, particularly excel Excellent communication skills with fluent English Team player capable of working in a large operational team The ability to work as both part of a team and independently is essential INDLP To be considered for this role you will be redirected to and must complete the application process on our careers page. xsokbrc To start the process, click the Apply button below to Login/Register.
