  • As a HGV Driver, you will liaise with our logistics department, Quarry, and Transport Manager to ensure Harrington products are delivered to customers in a safe and timely manner. Responsibilities include: Complete all deliveries and collections as scheduled in an efficient & safe manner to customers and facilities. Perform daily safety checks, maintenance checks and maintain all paperwork. Operating truck mounted machinery. Drive within current laws, legislations and adhere to company policy. Maintain cleanliness inside and out of allocated vehicle. Report any incidents or accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company's accident reporting procedure. Provide support in the yard as required by management. Must be flexible regarding start and finish times. Knowledge / Skills/ Experience Minimum of 1 year HGV driving experience. Clean relevant Drivers License. Up to date CPC Driver qualification. Valid Digital Tachograph Card. Valid Safe Pass (preferred) Able to effectively communicate clearly with operatives and managers to fault diagnose. Able to update self-knowledge by training as required and be health & safety aware. Able to communicate and be fluent in English (written and spoken). Ability to work on own initiative or with a team and to strict deadlines. Flexible and adaptable.   • Harrington Group have an exciting opportunity to join our growing company, based in our Kilkelly HQ, and are now recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer to join our team. This is a Fixed Term contract of employment. As a Health & Safety Officer you will be responsible for the management of key sites in the Connaught regions. You will be flexible, both in terms of working environment and site location. Responsibilities include: Manage & maintain the safety management system of the company in conjunction with the H&S Manager. Ensure H&S procedures are in compliance with regulatory requirements. Keep up to date with new legislation & standards. Carry out/update risk assessments, formulating preventative measures and monitoring conformance. Review & update Quarry Safety Statement annually. Managing & maintaining employee training records. Co-ordinate safety training for Safe Pass, QSCS, Manual Handling and First Aid courses etc. Assist in external audits or inspections with ICF/ ICCM/ Insurance/ HSA. Observing personnel to ensure H&S compliance. This will include monitoring subcontractors, visitors, customers & direct employees. Ensuring continued compliance with all regulatory standards, including ISO14001, ISO 9001 & ISO 45001. Completing RAMS, risk assessments and method statements for site works. Carry out & complete regular quarry H&S inspections and quarterly detailed Health & Safety audits at all locations and develop the reports in conjunction with these inspections/ audits. Investigate accidents/incidents and provide relevant accident/incident information to the insurer. Ensuring quarry safety records are completed and maintained, including plant & equipment, geotechnical assessments, brake tests, PAT testing, pull cords/ e-stops. Review sub-contractors' safety statements and relevant documentation to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Deliver internal safety training and toolbox talks. Administer safety induction training. Provide support and guidance to the Quarry managers on all H&S matters. Provide input to the tendering process for potential work. Overseeing all PPE requirements. Must be flexible regarding start and finish times. Skills Required: Preferably a minimum of 2 year's experience in a similar role. Clean relevant Drivers Licence. Graduate of Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Health and Safety. Preferably (but not essential) from a background in Quarry, Manufacturing/Road Construction Industry. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Flexible and adaptable. Quality focused. Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills. The position is based at our Kilkelly Depot. Key Objective The successful candidate will have full responsibility of ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the Tarmacadam Plant. Principal Duties: Meeting daily production requirements of various bituminous products for various contracts Carrying out routine maintenance of Tarmacadam plant Liaising with other production operations to ensure a timely supply of raw materials Maintaining Health & Safety, Quality Control & Environmental documentation Flexibility is essential to the company.
